As a teacher, you might have heard of the popular video game "Plants vs Zombies". Well, I hadn't. Not until this morning when one of my students asked me if I had.

"Pants vs Zombies?" I asked.

"No!" he responded. "But that would be an awesome game! I want to be a video game creator when I grow up. Do you know how I could do that?"

To be honest, I don't. And while I don't know anyone specifically who does, I know a group of connected educators who I am sure will help my student find out.

Please pass this podcast throughout your circle until my student and I can make contact with someone who knows how a 6th grader can pursue his passion of video game design. And be sure to leave your comments here.

You may want to check out Game Salad. It won't let him create the games that he would like, but it's pretty cool. You can use png files with transparent backgrounds to make yourself into a character. It was only available for Mac until this year, but now works on PC also. You can even publish the game to sell in the iOS App Store. Give it a shot, and tweet me if you run into any problems!

Nicely presented information in this post, I prefer to read this kind of stuff. The quality of content is fine and the conclusion is fine.

It's late finding this act. At least, it's a thing to be familiar with that there are such events exist.

I teach a class on video game design and start off the year by using gamestarmechanic.com. It uses a manga style process to instruct the students how to create their own games and the process involved. They also have contests the students can participate in.
